Apprentice Electrician

Essential Functions

  • Help install power supply wiring and conduit such as  Rigid conduit, strut, and cable tray
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels,
  • Help install, maintain, and repair electrical systems such as switch gears, motor controls, electrical panels, lighting, and power supplies
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Trace out short circuits in wiring, using a test meter
  • Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections using hand tools
  • Construct controllers and panels, using power drills, taps, saws and punches
  • Clean and maintain work area and washing parts
  • Maintain tools, vehicle, equipment, and keeping parts and supplies in order

Minimum Requirements

  • Current Texas Apprentice License
  • 2+ years of electrical experience preferred but not required
  • Previous oilfield experience and knowledge is preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher level
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Reading skills (basic instructional and technical information)
  • An acceptable combination of education and experience
