Apprentice Electrician
Essential Functions
- Help install power supply wiring and conduit such as Rigid conduit, strut, and cable tray
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels,
- Help install, maintain, and repair electrical systems such as switch gears, motor controls, electrical panels, lighting, and power supplies
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools
- Trace out short circuits in wiring, using a test meter
- Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections using hand tools
- Construct controllers and panels, using power drills, taps, saws and punches
- Clean and maintain work area and washing parts
- Maintain tools, vehicle, equipment, and keeping parts and supplies in order
Minimum Requirements
- Current Texas Apprentice License
- 2+ years of electrical experience preferred but not required
- Previous oilfield experience and knowledge is preferred
- High School Diploma/GED or higher level
- Good communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Reading skills (basic instructional and technical information)
- An acceptable combination of education and experience
